Exhibition at Oksasenkatu 11

This friday 14.6 we will open our next exhibition at Oksasenkatu 11 Gallery, Helsinki. Exhibition is titled: Postspatial discoreligion - A sketch for the profound experience of the future

In the world after peak oil the dreams about conquering outer space get dimmer and the continuity of western lifestyle gets more and more improbable.

When the consumercultural production chains break down, our still oily gaze turns to what we have left behind; trash, junk, filth. Where wastelands are future´s treasury, concepts can be excavated with the same lustfulness.

Association of experimental electronics is a group specialized in casual-artistic reuse of electronic waste. We hoard abandoned household electronics and intercollide them by therms of “Circuit bending” and “Hardware hacking.”

In this sketch for the future comprehensions we try to scrable together western culture´s most delicate traditions, such as religion, popular culture, heraldics and electronic art. Our aim is to present a vision of what kind of ritualculture we could have after the great breakdown.

The exhibition is open 14.-30.6. from Wednesdays to Sundays 15-20.

Koelse at Koevoimala 5.6

Koelse will be visiting Koevoimala event tomorrow 5.6. at Powerplant museum in Helsinki. There will be lot's of activities besides us as well, more info in finnish:

Place is  Voimalamuseo Hämeentie 163, time 17.00-22.00

Voimalamuseo

Pitches-yhtyeen jäseniä, Linnunlaulupuun jäseniä, kokeellisen elektroniikan seuran Koelsen jäseniä, performanssitaiteilija Jenni, Tanja Tiekso, Helsinki Poetry Connectionin runoilijoita, Janne Nummelan elektroninen improvisaatio, mm. Aavemaa-radiosta ja Youtubesta tuttu Tuukka Salonen, Jani Sipilän videotaidetta, tanssia, valokuvia, Timo Salon livepiirroksia ja paljon muuta.

Finissage at Suomesta 25.8

2012-08-14-IMG_8432.CR2
Koelse 101 sequencers finissage with MocTA
Saturday 25th of August from 5 PM to 2 AM.
Potsdamer Straße 91, 10785 Berlin

Koelse 101 Sequencers exhibition at Suomesta Gallery
is celebrating its finissage on Saturday 25th of August with guest performers. This celebration integrates with MocTA - Museum of contempary Trash Art, during the long night of the museums.

Association of Experimental Electronics (Koelse) has built a trasholicious installation inside Suomesta Gallery using electronics that have dropped out of consumer rotation. A space full of noisy lo-fi disturbance sound mayhem is to be expected. This particular concept is part of Koelse’s 10-year anniversary festivities.

Association of experimental electronics is a group of experimental electronics paramours. They gather old consumer-electronics and transform it into sound producing devices.
Koelse have been roaming around the world’s art-centers, galleries, wastelands and squats since 2002. They build installations, play concerts, teach workshops and party around their waste.

The "Lange Nacht der Museen" (Long Night of the Museums), one of the yearly highlights of the Berlin Culture Summer will again be celebrated in 2012. The first and unique Trash Art Museum, founded in 2008 by the Munich artist ADLER A.F. and known as MocTA, Museum of contemporary Trash Art, will also participate.

The Trash Art Museum shows works of art created from recycable materials from USA/Miami/New York, Switzerland, Austria, Taiwan, Poland, Mexico, Berlin, Passau, Kiel, and Munich. Artists from the International Trash Scene show performances, photographs, collages, videos, painting, Trash-Percussion, and installations.

Koelse (FIN) is a group of experimental electronics enthusiasts. They gather old consumer-electronics and transform them into sound producing devices. With these devices they play concerts, build installations and walk the streets in an inviting fashion to let people join and play with them

This year Alt_Cph and Copenhagen Art festival collaborate on a project with Koelse at it’s core.
Kolese will be part of both the program at Alt_Cph and Copenhagen Art Festival using their DIY instruments and Mobile Units to join the two art events in an interactive musical and artistic project. Throughout their stay, Kolese will have a stand at the fair, where you can come see them work on their projects.

Their first project will be a music parade where they will be walking with their DIY instruments through the city with pick-up points at each of the five contemporary art centers behind Copenhagen Art Festival, ending up at the fair to play an opening concert. The musical parade will start at Den Frie Kunsthal Wednesday at 12.00 o’clock and go on to Charlottenborg Kunsthal, Nikolaj Kunsthal, Gl. Strand and Højbro Plads and then on to Overgaden before walking to Alt_CPH on Amager. Check for full parade info here: LINK (linkes til planen ovenfor m googlemaps)

Thursday they will walk in and around Copenhagen centre and play at makeshift places.

Friday they have an open workshop at the Alt_Cph art fair from 14.00-17.00 in collaboration with Ben, Rør & Stampes (DK) a project space who likewise enjoy making DIY instruments, This workshop will end in a concert at the fair.

Saturday Kolese will set up shop in one of Copenhagen’s lionized bars where they unfold their instruments in an intimate concert.

Koelse’s projects have been seen and heard around Europe on festivals, museums, galleries and alternative art spaces since 2002.
